Good coffee maker  
We had a GREAT coffee maker for 20 (+) years. We found the carafe broken after coming home from a trip (housesitter maybe??). We decided to update our coffee maker instead of ordering a new carafe for the Krups we owned. The features are great on the Cuisinart 14- cup. I like that I can change the "strength" of the coffee. If you like weaker coffee this might not be the machine for you. This machine puts out A LOT of steam at the top. I do not know if the Cuisinart DCC-2600 has a height recommendation to protect any wood you might have above the Cuisinart but the least amount of space I would recommend between my wooden cabinets/shelves and the coffee maker would be (10-12"??) inches. I also read that it is difficult for left-handed people to fill the machine with water. I am left handed and I still can pour the water into the back of the machine pretty well--though it would be better if it were more left-handed friendly. : 2010-09-17 04:38:53

Consistently good Cuisinart product  
This is our second Cuisinart coffee maker and this one is way better than the last and the last one was good. This machine has upgraded features that allow you to slow the brewing process for a "Bold" brew. It will certainly make a stout cup of coffee if you are not use to the feature (which I love). The carafe does not dribble water as the last one did. The best improvement over our previous model is how the water is distributed over the grounds. This is a great coffee maker. Buy one now. Great Coffee Maker!!  
I bought this coffee maker to replace my 19 year old Bunn. I was looking for a coffee maker that was more consistent and would make more than my 8 cup coffee maker. I love this Cuisinart. My coffee is very consistent. I love the "bold" option - we drink our coffee quite strong. I also ended up purchasing a Capresso conical burr grinder as well. Between the two machines I am using a lot less coffee to make a strong cup. Love the temp. control for the warming pad as we like our coffee very hot. Another option we have truly enjoyed is the timer on the warming plate. You can program how long you want it to stay on. We have it on for 3 hours and our coffee does not get stale (reverse osmosis water). We only grind the coffee ahead of time when my husband goes to work at 5 am. The programmable option has been a dream. I do not have any problems putting the water in the machine and dont really have any complaints after owning this machine for about 4 months. : 2010-09-16 01:20:00

99.9% Perfect  
Have had this unit for about a month now and its a great coffee maker. Its worth the extra price. Use the "Bold" setting and you can use less coffee with the same amount of water to get a great tasting brew. The "1-4" cup setting works perfectly. There is only ONE little addition that would make it IDEAL: a LIGHT for the clock! A 10-cent LED behind the display is all it would take to make this unit PERFECT. : 2010-09-16 01:20:00

Speed Kills! Personally I love the nice SLOW brewing option.  
I got lucky and found my DCC-2600 on a clearance rack at a local B&M retailer a few months ago. I scored a great deal but would consider it a bargain at twice the price!

OK some reviewers (not just here but all coffeemakers) tout a quick brew as a positive thing. For me the opposite is true! I searched high and low for one that would NOT brew too fast.
This fabulous godsend of a machine has - not one but two - means by which you can OPTIONALLY slow down that brew cycle and make a nice bold cup without having to use twice as much coffee.

For years I was on a mission to replace my beloved Melitta Pure Perfection (discontinued long ago.)
It was incredibly hard to find a machine that combined my personal 2 most important preferences:
1. Cone filters and
2. A brew strength option.
All the other bells & whistles barely matter to me. (Not knocking them! But theyre just icing IMO.)

Great Coffeemaker  
Excellent coffee maker. I ordered this for my office because the staff kept leaving the old one on all night & and making a mess when they poured it. I have heard nothing but wonderful comments since we replaced the old worn-out machine with this one. No more spills and no more fire hazard overnight! AND the coffee tastes much better. Cuisinart gets it right!  
I had an Cuisinart coffee maker years ago and swore them off. I saw this model at a friends house and after listening to their rave reviews checked here and saw they werent the only ones that like this machine.
So we ordered one and it is all they say. Great coffee easy to clean a joy to own. No LED light is a very minor issue. Otherwise its perfect. : 2010-09-16 01:20:00
